This track is inspired by the classic ancient Japanese play Motomezuka, in which a young maiden named Unai, torn between two suitors, commits suicide. The suitors in turn murder each other. Unai is then confined in the eight great hells forever as karmic responsibility. The lyrics are derived from the loneliest passages from an English translation of this tragic play.
men seldom find their way to this wild and desolate plain
except for my grave, there is nothing here.
only wild beasts roaming about and quarreling over my bones,
the wandering ghosts, that haunt this tomb,
fly with the wind in the pines,
quick as lightning flash before the eyes,
and as brief as the morning dew
